This concert speaks of the worst and the best of the human condition – from the words of a young girl experiencing the horrors of the Holocaust to the uplifting voices of the Ode to Joy.

The first concert of the Calgary Civic Symphony’s 2009/10 season unites First Alliance Church Choir, Cantaré Children’s Choir, and the members of the CPO Chorus for the performance of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. This special collaboration will present the Calgary Civic Symphony with a massed choir of 150 voices and a brilliant quartet of soloists. Soloists include: Michelle Minke (soprano), Jacqui Lynn Fidlar (alto), Derek Johnson (tenor), and Jason Erhardt (baritone). Ms. Fidlar will also sing solo in From the Diary of Anne Frank by Morawetz.
