BeatStreet

Wed 18th November, 8:30pm @ Arch Angel, live music cafe. RochStr 14, 10178 Berlin.

Hello all you beaters out there, hope all is well in your world. It looks like Betatstreet has found its new home. Arch Angel @ Alexander platz is one of the coolest music hot spots in Berlin and is perfect for us. The owners approached me about moving the show to their establishment and after seeing the space, I couldn’t turn them down. It’s just that cool!!!

Appearing this month:

Robert Grant, BeatStreets founder, curator and resident sexual dynamo (even if I have to say so myself) will be giving you a greatest hits show. He will be presenting a ‘best of’ collection, highlighting some of his most popular poems from a publishing history stretching back over the last 10 years. He will also be joined on stage by musician Ryan T. Jacob for a special new interpretation of one of his most popular poems ‘Danielle’.

Anthony Baggette is quite simply a legend of the Berlin poetry scene. This poet and ex-MTV-moderator (‘talking jazz’, early 90’s) knows how to focus serious topics in his own and very charming way, spiced with irony and pop-metaphors. Baggette moved from Ohia/usa in the early 80’s bringing his cool style and pace to the Berlin scene. One not to be missed!

Cameron Wilson aka Mr Ocean will be making his BeatStreet debut this month. He has been around the Berlin poetry scene for some time now, giving people glimpses of his eccentric style, but I am proud to say that this is his first full show. His interesting world slant will certainly appeal to those with a more flamboyant nature.

We also have comedy from The Supernaturals who are a new comedy troupe comprised of Honduran performer Rey Melara, American writer and performer Paul Salamone, and actor and musician Alan Glen from Canada. The show combines an unusual mix of improv, sketch, stand-up, music, video, and audience interaction, along with subtle narrative threads designed to bring the audience back again and again.

On top of all that we have special musical guest Ryan T. Jacobs, ending the night with a short concert of his beautifully haunting songs.

If you hadn’t noticed, that is a 3 for 1 special. Poetry + Comedy + Music = A BeatStreet that won’t be forgotten, in the newest and coolest location in the city.

Speak really soon...Rob x
