15th Annual Fritz Blitz of New Plays by California Playwrights

The Best of the Blitz!

 

This is absolutely, probably, the last Fritz Blitz ever!!  After 15 years of presenting the biggest festival of its kind on the West Coast, The Fritz Theatre is pulling out all the stops and is celebrating its 15th anniversary by presenting The Best of the Blitz.  Continuing its tradition of presenting cutting edge theatre, The Fritz Blitz 2008 will showcase a variety of plays from the past 15 years.  This is going to be the best of the best guaranteed to make you laugh, cry, think and then laugh even more. Every week of the festival will offer up new reasons to come back again and again until you think you can’t take anymore. Are you ready??  Because it’s almost here!!

The Fritz Blitz has been a steady contributing force to San Diego Theatre bringing new plays and San Diego’s best talent forward year after year.  After last year’s performance of Bets and Blue Notes Pat Launer exclaimed, “I hate to say ‘It was fabulous and you missed it.’ But…. It was fabulous, and it is a damn shame you missed it.” 

 

Well guess what – you didn’t miss it! – come to this year’s Blitz and see what all of the fuss is about.  We are closing shop after this year, so come help us celebrate 15 fabulous years!

 

The Fritz Blitz of New Plays by California Playwrights will play at the Lyceum Space Theatre, located at 79 Horton Plaza in downtown San Diego.  Performances run July 31 to August 24, 2008, Thursday - Saturday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.

 

Tickets are $18 general admission, $15 for students/seniors/military/AASD. A Fritz Blitz Pass to see all plays is only $49.
