California, and specifically the city of San Francisco, have a myriad of laws that apply to the workplace. Often, these laws are substantively very different from their federal counterparts. Employers who understand these laws, and tailor their HR practices accordingly, can avoid litigation altogether and foster better relations with their employees.

This unique presentation focuses on the differences between state and federal employment laws, particularly on the following topics:

-Class Actions
-Wage and Hour Laws
-Discrimination
-Disability Rights

Speaker: Brian Ashe, Partner, and members of the Labor & Employment Practice, Seyfarth Shaw LLP - Mr. Ashe is a partner representing employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. His main areas of practice are employment litigation and counseling. Mr. Ashe defends employers in discrimination litigation, trade secret cases, wrongful termination actions and matters involving unions. He advises clients in various aspects of human resources management, including employee discipline, employee handbooks, sexual harassment, prevention and disability matters.
