Topic: Getting the Most from Mentoring

Mentoring relationships have long been considered a key element in any professional development plan. A mentor serves as a professional confidant with demonstrated expertise in a particular area, a sounding board for idea generation or proposal preparation, and a connection to an expanded network of professional resources. Learning from others is efficient development and an essential way to expand career opportunities. A great mentoring relationship is a 2-way partnership. As a protege, you have a role in creating collaboration on both sides of the mentoring relationship. In this workshop, you will learn how to create a unique mentoring experience that encourages your participation and enhances your learning within the mentoring process. This panel discussion will explore best practices to establish, sustain and maximize your mentoring relationships.
