Hotdog Eating Contest for Charity

In honor of National Hotdog Month, Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs on East Colfax in Denver will host an inaugural hotdog eating contest featuring an “Elite Ate” of contestants, all of whom will have competed and qualified at one of the four qualifying events Steve’s has scheduled over the next few weeks.  Proceeds of the entire event will benefit the Colorado Aids Walk and Project Angel Heart.

The first of the four qualifying events will take place at Steve’s Snappin’ Dogs at 3525 E. Colfax Ave at 2:30 pm on June 1st.  Subsequent qualifiers will take place on June 15, 29 and July 13.  The final eatoff will take place on July 27th.

All contestants will receive T-shirts and the top qualifiers will receive additional prizes.  The final first place winner will receive a $300 gift certificate, crowned the “Big Wiener,” receive mention in local media and a trophy.  Second and third place winners will receive trophies and gift certificates at a lesser value.
