Hunger Artists Ensemble Theatre “Letters to Home” adapted by Maggie Stillman and Deni-Marie Warren Directed by Maggie Stillman Back for its second year by popular demand, Hunger Artists Ensemble Theatre is proud to present their latest production, “Letters to Home”. This original Reader's Theatre production consists of historic war letters written by soldiers to their families dating from the Civil War to Desert Storm. Working in association with Keith Schrum from the Colorado Historical Society, adaptors Maggie Stillman and Deni-Marie Warren have compiled a selection of unique letters, all of which are tied to Colorado. These personal memoirs of war, loss, happiness and betrayal are moving and thought provoking. “Letters to Home” is an inspirational journey into the soul of a soldier. Their stories transcend politics and reveal in their own words the hearts and minds of those who have served our country. Starring: Ben Cowhick, Dave Karasik, Amy Ratliff, Jeff Simpson, Peter Trinh, and Sarah Whitney. Performances run from June 13 to July 5; Thursdays-Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 6 p.m. at the Byers Evans House Museum, 1310 Bannock Street, Denver CO 80204. Industry night is on Sunday, June 15 at 6 p.m. Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for groups of 10 or more/student/senior/military/wheelchair patrons and Colorado Historical Society members, and $10 for National Performing Arts Convention attendees. Thursdays are 2 for 1 (no additional discounts in conjunction with this offer). Tickets can be purchased by calling the Hunger Artists Ensemble Theatre box office at 303-893-5438. Hunger Artists Ensemble Theatre was formed in 1979 by a group of actors who believed that working in a collaborative, ensemble style would produce the most affecting theatre, and has grown through the years to include some of the finest directors, designers, technicians and actors in Denver.
