The Psychology of a Job Search Whether unemployed or looking to change positions, there can be an emotional reaction to a job loss or job search, and your state of mind can influence your success in the job search. In addition, significant others in your life also have an impact. You need to be prepared to meet these challenges.
The Role of Self-Assessment Different skills are valued by different employers. You need to be able to identify your skill set and use it to develop career building opportunities. Once you have done so, you need to be able to relate these skills to specific employer needs.
The Art of Resume Development Trends continue to evolve in resume writing with scannable resumes, online applications and keyword searches being used. Hiring managers and human resources have different expectations from today’s resume – you need to know the most up to date approaches.
Marketing Yourself Since networking is a major component in any job search, when speaking with someone about a position it is important for you to be able to articulate what you want from and what you can offer to an organization in under a minute. Social and professional networking websites can be used – if done properly.
Interviewing with Impact Organizations use different interview approaches; telephone, in-person, group, individual. You need to be prepared for these different types of interviews.
