Full details: Jammy southern rock/country blues sextet Garden City Limits will play Live at the Linen at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise’s Linen District. $3 at the door. All ages. Beer and wine available (ID required). Frontman Greg Bridges (guitar, vocals) says Garden City Limits sometimes refer to their sound as “Citybilly,” which is an apt description for this good-time band that “turned out to be more of a drinking club than anything,” according to Bridges’ MySpace. The six-member group, which also includes Mike Young (mandolin, vocals, guitar), David Lupien (harmonica, vocals), Aaron Pritchett (rhythm guitar), Tom Eaton (bass) and Pat Reid (drums), packs Sockeye on a regular basis, combining rootsy originals and covers by the likes of Johnny Cash, Grateful Dead, Widespread Panic, Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, Ryan Adams and others. Shortly after forming, Garden City Limits won the inaugural Logger Jam Battle of the Bands in New Meadows. They have opened for Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons and perform frequently at Boise venues such as the Bouquet, Terrapin Station and aforementioned Sockeye Grill and Brewery. Hear them at www.myspace.com/gclimits. Greg Bridges will open with a special solo acoustic set. Learn more about this native Tennessean and hear his music at www.myspace.com/gregbridges.

ABOUT THE LINEN BUILDING: Built in 1910 and originally known as the American Laundry Building, the Linen Building Event Center has been transformed into an architecturally unique special events center. The two-story facility houses three distinct music venues: a 350-capacity concert hall in a retrofitted warehouse space; an intimate, 150-capacity upstairs performance space; and a 1,500-capacity open-air performance space in the epicenter of Downtown Boise’s Linen District. |
