Hermes Govantes and the Underground Showroom present HG Nightology, a night of fashion, art and music at 8 p.m. Friday, July 24, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise’s Linen District. Tickets are $10 general and $20 VIP, available at the door or by calling the Underground Showroom at 208.343.7333. All ages. Full bar (ID required).

The evening will culminate in a fashion show featuring the launch of Hermes Govantes’ clothing line, HG, and celebrating the opening of the Underground Showroom, Govantes’ new storefront at 150 N. 8th St., Suite 111 in Downtown Boise.

The fashion show also will feature the runway style of designer/artist/stylist Tod Alan (coco-fringe.com). Music will be provided by DJs Mighty Deltaone, Jeff From Above, Jack Thomas and Justin Carr. Carr, a veteran electro DJ who recently returned to Boise, will be launching a CD at the show.

HG Nightology (hgnightology.com) aims to introduce new fashion, music and art to the Boise nightlife scene. Govantes, a Capital High graduate, moved to Spain after high school to study fashion design and marketing. Inspired by his father, the Spanish fashion designer Hermes Govantes Sr., he apprenticed with his father’s men’s design team at HG Govantes, designing for the company’s casual and swim lines before branching out on his own.

The junior Govantes’ HG line features the interplay of sophisticated design and patterns, exclusive materials and aesthetic tailoring. In addition to HG, the Underground Showroom carries such clothing lines as English Laundry, Christian Audigier, Fender, Mek, G-Star, Angelino and True Religion.

Tod Alan is one of the most talented and creative hair stylists in the West. His chic salon, Coco Fringe, is located in Boise’s North End. Alan also specializes in high-end avant-garde fashion styling and fine art, both of which will be featured at HG Nightology.

ABOUT THE LINEN BUILDING: Built in 1910 and originally known as the American Laundry Building, the Linen Building Event Center has been transformed into an architecturally unique special events center. The two-story facility houses three distinct music venues: a 350-capacity concert hall in a retrofitted warehouse space; an intimate, 150-capacity upstairs performance space; and a 1,500-capacity open-air performance space in the epicenter of Downtown Boise’s Linen District.
