TrICA presents children’s theater classic at the Linen Building Saturday, Aug. 8

Sun Valley’s St. Thomas Playhouse will give interactive afternoon and evening performances of “Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs”

The Treasure Valley Institute for Children’s Arts (TrICA) proudly presents Moses Goldberg’s “Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs,” an interactive theater production designed especially for children by St. Thomas Playhouse of Sun Valley, at 2 and 7 p.m Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Linen Building, 1402 W. Grove St. in Downtown Boise’s Linen District. Tickets are $7, available by calling TrICA at 208.344.2220.

Cheer for the industrious and clever Third Pig as she defends herself in a sturdy brick house — built with the help of the audience! Then laugh with delight and squirm with suspense as Red Riding Hood almost allows her bravado and all-too-trusting nature to deliver her to a very hungry and equally funny wolf.

This special production is part of TrICA Month at the Linen Building. In addition to the play, TrICA will hold its CupCakeCollective competition/tasting fundraiser on Saturday, Aug. 15, and participate in the Linen Building Sunday Market on Aug. 16. TrICA will receive a portion of the proceeds from the market and the VIP afterparty on opening night of The Gallery at the Linen Building on Friday, Aug. 14.

The Treasure Valley Institute for Children’s Arts (trica.org) provides meaningful experiences in the arts taught by outstanding and loving educators, inspiring the children of the Treasure Valley to develop attitudes and values contributing to a stronger sense of community, humanity and good will.

Formerly known as Children’s Dance Institute, TrICA offers open classes to children after school, school-based dance programs, spring break programs and summer camps. Subjects include musical theater, dance, drumming, giant puppetry, visual arts, comedic theater and more. Classes are designed to intrigue children and build imaginations.
