Want to enjoy that thrill of being a musician playing with others in a jam band?

Want to get primitive for a couple hours with like minded people?

Want a cheap date that could prove interesting?

Brick Street Rhythm Endeavor has an evening with instruments and instruction set aside just for people like you.  Bring your own hand drum, tambourine, maracas or borrow one of ours for the evening.

What is a Drum Circle?

Brick Street Rhythm Endeavor believes a drum circle is a group of friendly creative people making music together with percussion instruments.  A drum circle is not a group of entertainers performing a set piece, nor is it a class or a re-creation of other musical pieces.  We like to think of a drum circle as “an adventure making its own soundtrack.”

Drum circles are one of the original forms of interactive entertainment.  We think there is room in our modern lives for this style of entertainment.  Not only are drum circles fun, but provide a way to connect with other people and to see that creative side of ourselves and other people that is so often hidden in our everyday lives.  Drum circles give many people that thrill of creativity usually experienced by “real musicians”.

We believe drum circles to be a legitimate art form, music, originating in  the creativity of the participants.

Drum circles can also be an easy form of art for almost anyone to engage in.  Even though there are college educated percussion players and great experts in many authentic tribal rhythms, many beginners have finished their first drum circle with a glowing sense of accomplishment and are eager to return to a drum circle in the future.

We strive to make our drum circles fun, enthusiastic and noncompetitive.  We welcome beginners and experts alike to join together.  Sometimes our circles are orchestrated, giving solos and duets to various drummers, other times we sit back and let the circle guide itself.

We are happy to help beginners learn how to drum, and would gladly suggest different instruments to even the most timid.

Donations for this event will be split between Adel Parks and Recreation and Brick Street Rhythm Endeavor.
