Full details: East Boston, Mass. area residents are invited to "Sample the Arts," a free event at 80 Border Street featuring art, music, dancing and food on the East Boston waterfront. The evening's program includes a display of paintings by local artist June Krinsky-Rudder, world music by Marie Alessandro & Miguel Vargas, dancing, refreshments, and a performance by the Border Street Dancers. Mayor Menino will stop by for a "Meet and Greet." The 80 Border Street Cultural Exchange Center will put a spotlight on East Boston's rich cultural heritage and diverse community at their Atlantic Works Building waterfront location overlooking the inner Boston Harbor and the bridge over the Mystic River. "Spending time in East Boston is like traveling somewhere exotic without a passport," said Pj Schott, Sample the Arts' organizer. "I have lived all over the world and rarely have I seen such a vibrant mix of great food, fascinating people, and intriguing art bordered by historic settings, a magnificent waterfront, and stunning views of a downtown city skyline." 80 Border Street Cultural Exchange Center is a non-profit performing, visual and literary arts center dedicated to the educational and cultural needs of East Boston and surrounding communities, as well as visitors to the Boston area. The center supports a meaningful exchange of ideas, a chance to discover, to create, to learn, to be inspired and to inspire others. Send to Outlook: http://www.fullcalendar.com/vc.cfm?i=368132 |
