"When we are together" explores the immediate experiences of women in the modern African Diaspora.

Beat Tree Dance Company presents new and current choreography. The women use dance/theatre/song and drumming, incorporating elements of contemporary and traditional dance styles. Each dancer has contributed choreography in a wide range including, West African, Hip-hop, yogic dance, Orisha dance, Jazz and Modern in a unique fusion that produces a new vocabulary of movement.

The combined movements merge with live drumming to create a unique theatrical experience!

The November show features choreography from W. Lola Remy, Marianne Harkless, Dayenne C. Byron Walters, Amy Strong, Terra Weaver, and Harolyn Bowden as well as live music by local musicians.
