National Survivors of Suicide Day is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and Common Ground Sanctuary in Oakland County and is observed on the Saturday before Thanksgiving each year. The day is a day of healing for those bereaved by suicide loss and is intended to offer comfort, strength, and hope before the holidays. This year, the conference will feature survivor Terrie Meerschaert sharing her own story of growth and healing, a web cast from the AFSP with a panel of survivors, slam poets Kinetic Affect, and breakout sessions focused on health and healing during grief. We will have an optional commemoration session, in which survivors get the opportunity to talk about their loved one's life - feel free to bring a momento of your loved one to share with the group or to hang on our Survivor Memorial Tree. 

We ask for a $20 donation to cover the costs of the conference this year. It is optional, and no one will be turned away as long as there is room.
