Full details: NASA astronaut Michael Massimino, a Franklin Square, NY native, will share his outer worldly experiences with New York City students at a youth leadership conference for 9th-12th graders on Thursday, July 30th at 11:00 AM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86, (46th Street and 12th Avenue, Manhattan). The all-day conference, which is open to the public, gives students the opportunity to learn about leadership and character directly from members of their community through small group activities and exercises. Massimino, who recently returned from the Hubble telescope servicing mission and who is the first person to ever “tweet” from space, will host the conference while he is in New York participating in NASA’s “Hometown Heroes” tour. All activities are free with the price of admission to the Museum. Reservations are not required to attend, though space is limited and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
