STUY TOWN PRESENTS ART BATTLES

Join us as four artists battle with their brushes and paints to the beats of DJ Terry Urban at this summer’s outdoor ArtBattles competition at Stuy Town on Wednesday, July 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Stuyvesant Town Oval (at the fountain on the north side), enter at 18th Street & First Avenue,  Manhattan.  Local artists, armed with creativity and encouraged by the crowd, will have about two hours to create a painting based on the theme NYC Culture.  At the end of the battle, the audience will vote to determine the champion. The event is free and open to the public.

ArtBattles, at the forefront of New York City's live art movement, has been helping artists connect to the public.  Like jazz musicians, these painters grab their instruments and attempt to entertain and inspire the world around them. The live audience enhances and energizes the work of the artist while the crowd feels a personal connection to the piece. The artists in this battle were selected based on their noteworthy style, personality and influence on NYC’s Live Art scene.
