Full details:

As part of its 50th Anniversary celebration, the Guggenheim Museum has produced a 27-minute documentary film entitled, Art, Architecture and Innovation: Celebrating the Guggenheim Museum

The film combines archival video footage showing the building under construction in the 1950s  with clips from interviews with Solomon R. Guggenheim, Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, art historian Linda Nochlin, and artists Brice Marden, Jenny Holzer and Ann Hamilton.

Filled with the dramatic imagery from high-profile exhibitions of the past decade (from Cai Guo-Qiang and David Smith to Matthew Barney), the film examines the relationship between the masterpiece museum and the art it has showcased.  The film is presented in conjunction with the landmark exhibition, Frank Lloyd Wright: From Within Outward, and shown every Friday at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., through August 23 in the Guggenheim’s New Media Theatre.

A  DVD is available for purchase in the Guggenheim Museum Store at 1071 Fifth Avenue, for $15.95, or can be purchased online at www.guggenheimstore.org
