Full details:

Join Michael DeFeo, street artist, educator, and longtime Friends of the High Line collaborator, as he leads a free a workshop incorporating butterflies, horticulture and art at the High Line’s 10th Avenue Square, during Butterflies on the High Line with Michael DeFeo on Tuesday, August 4, at 4:00 PM on the High Line’s 14th Street Passage, in New York.

Michael DeFeo and Friends of the High Line gardeners and horticulture staff will teach kids about the High Line's pollinators—butterflies, bees, moths and other insects—and show how the flowers on the High Line interact with these pollinators to survive and thrive.  Michael and Friends of the High Line staff will also help kids identify some of the plants and pollinators that are visible on a walk on the High Line.  Afterward, kids will make their very own colorful butterfly magnet to take home, based on original artwork by Michael and the kids.

The event is free and open to the public, with an RSVP recommended.  Butterflies on the High Line with Michael DeFeo is a part of the High Line’s summer and fall calendar of free Family Programs, which includes events centering on horticulture, art, design and history in a hands-on way for kids and families alike.
