Gramsci Melodic, a local pop-art rock band and winner of “The Joker Productions Rock Off” in 2008, has slated the release date of their new album, self-titled “Gramsci Melodic,” for Saturday, June 13, 2009. They are celebrating the release by hosting their own party at Altar Bar, located in the Strip District, beginning at 10pm. The evening’s entertainment includes a live performance by Gramsci Melodic, as well as a guest performance from Speedsquare, a dynamic drum and piano duo from North Carolina who will be playing a set later in the show. Add spins from the house DJ with the company of Gramsci’s devoted fans bobbing their heads in the pit below, and all that is missing is a man in a suit walking around with a giant green head…oh wait, there’s that too.
