Bread Crumbs Just above the Calendar on the Events | Directory pages is the last country, region, or city page you have visited. You can quickly go from the city level back up to the region, country, or global level by clicking on the respective link above the calendar.
Using the Calendar↑↑↑
You will find the EventSetter calendar on the main page of the country, region or city you have chosen as well as all the category listings pages. Using the calendar is simple and straight forward. Clicking on a calendar date while on the country, region, or city homepage will present all the events listed from that date forward. Clicking a date on the calendar from one of the categories will present all the events in that particular category going forward from the selected date.
The calendar also has a previous '<' key and next '>' key to move backward and forward through months. These will simply move the calendar to the first day of the previous or next month and present all the event results for those dates.
Using Categories↑↑↑
Any event listed on EventSetter is placed in a category. The user who posts the event determines which category the event is placed. The categories encompass a wide variety of common types of events and should provide you with reasonable amount of specialization to easily locate the kind of events you are seeking. Below are the categories you will find listed on the country, region, or city homepages.
You will see 'All Listings' just above all the category links. Clicking this link will present all the event listings for a particular country, region and/or city starting with the current date.
Using Day and Week Navigation↑↑↑
You will see 'Day' and 'Week' navigation links on all listings pages above and below the listings. They simply allow you to conveniently change the dates of event listings you are browsing. Either by a day or a week in the past or future. The starting date will always be listed in the top center of the page.
Event Listings↑↑↑
Event Listings are always listed in chronological order. With that in mind, you can use the 'All Events" link above the categories, the individual category links, or in combination with the calendar for specific dates to find what you are looking for easily. You may not find an event for the specific date and/or category you have selected.
Color Codes The four event listings above are an example of what you will see in the category listings. Notice that each listing has a different color surrounding the date information. The color coding is designed to give you a quick sense of when the event will occur without having to examine the date closely. Color codes are explained below.
The color code used in the first listing is a faint brown. This color signifies that the event date has already passed.
The color code used in the second listing is a faint green. This color signifies that the event will occur today.
The color code used in the third listing is a faint orange. This color signifies that the event will occur in the next week (within 7 days).
The color code used in the fourth listing is white. White signifies that the event date is beyond the next 7 days.
Virtual Events↑↑↑
Virtual Events are listings that do not require attendance at a physical location, such as Conference Calls, Online Gaming, or Webinars. The date and time for Virtual Events should automatically offset to display your local time, based on your computer's clock. The event color coding applies to Virtual Events.
Search↑↑↑
EventSetter provides Google Search for your convenience at the top center of the every page. To search for events on EventSetter, make sure to select the EventSetter radio button when you perform a search. If you are looking for search results within a particular city, remember to type the city name into the search bar along with your other keyword or phrase. Not typing in the city name will provide you with all results from all cities.
Posting An Event↑↑↑
As mentioned earlier, there is no charge or registration required to post events on EventSetter. To get the best result from your event posting, you should post the event as early as possible. Events are only accepted if they are posted no less than 24 hours and no more than 270 days in advance. This will give your event a greater chance of being seen and will also provide people with enough lead time to make preparation for attending your event. To avoid irrelevant date listings, EventSetter only allows for events to be posted by specific date only, but the submission form accepts up to four additional dates for recurring events. This would not be considered a multiple listing. Although this approach is more time consuming in posting events, your event posting will be more effective, in that it will not be lost in irrelevant multiple day postings. So for the best result in promoting you events, post early and post often.
PR Pages↑↑↑
PR Page is the name given to registered user accounts. As EventSetter serves both finding and promoting events the PR Pages were intended for, but not limited to, those involved in the events industry. PR Pages do not automatically get listed in the PR Directory you must set up your Directory listing manually.
Some common questions about PR pages are answered on the EventSetter FAQ page. You can get your own PR Page here.
